EAU CLAIRE — Head down to the Lakely tonight for a special edition of Clearwater Comedy open mic night dubbed “Lakely Idol.” Contestants have a chance to win a unique prize.

CWC will host a contest for musicians to win an opening spot at Wyatt Thomson’s EP release on Sept. 3 at The Brickhouse, presented by Converge Radio and Aviary Studios.

Wyatt Thomson is a singer-songwriter from the Chippewa Valley, whose latest release “Typhoid Fever” is available on Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming services.

Musicians get two songs, and spoken word entertainers get five minutes. Sign ups start at 8 p.m. with the show starting at 8:30 p.m.

CHIPPEWA FALLS — Every Buddy’s Bar is hosting a night of rock music on Wednesday starting at 6 p.m. Performers include Gemini Syndrome with Cultus Black, Made To Rise, Lines øf Loyalty and Motherwind.

Headliner Gemini Syndrome is an alternative metal band formed in 2010. The band currently consists of vocalist Aaron Nordstrom, drummer Brian Steele Medina, bassist Alessandro “(AP)” Paveri, and guitarist Miguel “Meegs” Rascon.

Advance tickets for the concert are $25. The ticket price rises to $30 the week of the show. They are available now online at eventbrite.com. The show is for those 21 years of age or older. For more information find the event’s Facebook page.

EAU CLAIRE — UW-Eau Claire will host the last outdoor film of their Summer Cinema series on Wednesday. Disney’s “Hercules” will be screened.

In this 1997 animated classic, The son of Zeus and Hera is stripped of his immortality as an infant and must become a true hero in order to reclaim it.

The film will be screened at Haas Fine Arts Field starting at 9 p.m. with activities happening at 8 p.m. Films and activities are open to everyone; students and the Eau Claire community. Come for the film, food and fun.

All summer films are free and open to the public. Catch a movie on campus this week and don’t forget to bring a blanket.

CADOTT — Nashville North is bringing a special show to Dixons Apple Orchard tonight featuring EllieMay Kay, Brian Bethke Band, Kaiged Acoustic and Bryce Hedtke.

Food from The Batters Box food truck, and local vendors Rusty Horse Boutique, Monarch Hill Hemp and Sweet Pine Farm will be on site for attendees to enjoy.

Music goes from 4:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.

EAU CLAIRE — Volume One’s Sounds Like Summer Concert Series welcomes FM Down, The Over Unders and Emma West on Thursday. The concert kicks off at 6 p.m. with a performance from West followed by The Over Unders and FM Down.

FM Down is loud, unabashed rock and roll; pure and simple. They provide an energetic and distinctive, usually full-production original music show that is guaranteed to get people talking.

The Over Unders are a band based in Eau Claire.

The show is happening in Phoenix Park. Multiple food vendors will have food for sale and pets are allowed at the concert. All Sounds Like Summer concerts are free and open to the public.
